3” Stainless Steel Turbo-Back Exhaust – Toyota Hilux Surf KZN130 / KZN185 1KZ-TE
After more than six months of research, development, testing, and manufacturing, the HiYota 3” Stainless Steel Turbo-Back Exhaust for the Toyota Hilux Surf 1KZ-TE is now in production.
This wasn’t a simple exhaust to develop.
Our goal was to build a true 3-inch turbo-back system without compromising ground clearance, fitment, or exhaust flow.
What Makes the HiYota Exhaust Different
One of the biggest challenges was creating a true 3-inch outlet directly from the turbocharger while maintaining proper clearance around the engine and chassis.
The second challenge was designing the over-axle section to maintain ground clearance while still allowing the exhaust to flow properly.
Many aftermarket systems neck down immediately after the turbo before transitioning into larger exhaust tubing.
Ours doesn’t.
The HiYota system maintains a true 3-inch diameter from the turbocharger all the way to the tailpipe, maximizing exhaust flow and reducing unnecessary backpressure.
For the 1KZ-TE, improved exhaust flow can also help manage exhaust gas temperatures (EGTs), particularly during sustained highway driving, towing, mountain climbs, and other high-load conditions.

Complimentary EGR Block-Off Kit
Every exhaust also includes a complimentary HiYota EGR Block-Off Kit.
Also manufactured by us in Canada, the kit includes precision-cut stainless steel block-off plates, hardware, and gaskets.
Eliminating the factory EGR system helps prevent exhaust gases from being recirculated through the intake, reducing future carbon buildup and complementing the increased exhaust flow of the 3” turbo-back system.

Installation Information
This is a complete turbo-back exhaust that bolts directly to the factory turbocharger.
Because these vehicles are now approximately 25–30+ years old, we strongly recommend planning for seized factory turbo hardware. Decades of heat cycles can make the original studs and nuts extremely difficult to remove.
Although installation can be completed with the turbocharger still installed on the engine, we highly recommend removing the turbocharger during installation. This can make installation considerably easier.
For this reason, every exhaust includes a complete turbo gasket and hardware kit with new studs, nuts, gaskets, and seals.
Every Hilux Surf has also lived a different life over the past few decades. Previous exhaust repairs, suspension modifications, lifts, engine work, and other changes can affect alignment.
Minor adjustment or “clocking” of the V-band connections may therefore be required during installation to achieve the best fit.
Professional installation is highly recommended due to the complexity of installing a complete turbo-back system and the likelihood of seized factory hardware.

The HiYota 3” Turbo-Back Exhaust was developed specifically for the 1KZ-TE platform.
We spent more than six months developing and testing the system because we didn’t want to rush the product to market. Our objective was simple: build the best 1KZ-TE turbo-back exhaust we could.
Production is completed in controlled batches to maintain manufacturing and fitment quality.
